The region around Vänersborg, Trollhättan and Dalsland offers a range of exciting outings for nature lovers, families and culture enthusiasts. From moose watching to water fun and historical discoveries – there’s something for everyone.

Kungajaktmuseet Älgens Berg (Vargön)
This museum in the Halle-Hunneberg eco-park is dedicated to the moose and royal hunting tradition. Interactive exhibitions tell of nature, geology and regional cultural history. A highlight is the presentation of the Vittene gold treasure.

Vänersborgs Museum
As Sweden’s oldest preserved museum building, it offers a journey into the 19th century. Collections include exhibits from Africa, Egypt, China as well as Nordic animals and minerals.

Dalslands Moose Ranch (Ed)
In a 10-hectare forest area visitors can experience moose up close. Guided tours and feedings offer exciting insights into these majestic animals’ lives. A café and gift shop round off the experience.

Vattenpalatset (Vänersborg)
A water park for the whole family with slides, a current channel, water cannons and cozy grotto area. Water temperature is a pleasant 30 °C. A café caters to your needs.

Saab Car Museum (Trollhättan)
The museum presents the history of the Saab car brand from its beginnings to the present. In the former NOHAB factory you’ll see prototypes, production models and race cars — a must for technology and design fans.

Skrotnisses Lekplats (Trollhättan)
On 1,300 m² a themed playground adventure for children of all ages. With treehouse, labyrinth, boat and a hybrid of car and plane, fun is guaranteed. Inspired by Jan Lööf’s character Skrotnisse.

Läckö Castle
(Kållandsö, Lidköping)
The 17th‑century baroque castle lies picture‑perfect on Lake Vänern. In summer, opera performances and guided tours take place. The adjacent castle garden and Natureum add further highlights.

Mini Golf
(am Hunneberg)
The well-maintained mini-golf at the foot of Hunneberg offers two classic 18‑hole courses in summer amongst trees and meadow. A kiosk with ice cream, lemonade and “Fika” provides a break, while an adjacent barbecue area is perfect for picnics.
